Karcher Mall is once again making changes that affect the growth of our community, just as they did in 1965. Starting on the First Friday in May, Karcher Mall, in conjunction with Gold Buckle Champions, will be hosting an event that showcases the creativity of our community. The “Art of Building a Community”. Artisans are invited to come and showcase their creativity.
Karcher Mall has always been a leader in setting the pace for the community and is continuing to do so. Karcher Mall management team is demonstrating innovative ideas by promoting nonprofit organizations. Gold Buckle Champions and Dreamweaver Musical Theater are working in conjunction with the mall management, to bring their ideas of creativity to Treasure Valley.
"We are looking to discover, to seek, to inspire, and to explore creativity in all its forms within Treasure Valley.” quoted Executive Director, Sue Marostica. “This is not just about the visual and performing arts, but about creativity. To quote Harvey Firestone, “Capital isn't so important in business. Experience isn't so important. You can get both these things. What is important is ideas. If you have ideas, you have the main asset you need, and there isn't any limit to what you can do with your business and your life."
Karcher’s First Friday will be May 6th, the Art of Building a Community, starting with fun events, from 7-9 pm. We will feature western line dancing instruction, great food from some local establishments, and amazing art work from very talented local artists. Gold Buckle Champion will take applications, on their website or stop by their store at the mall, from anyone who wants to inspire creativity, to be able to showcase their ideas for the next month
“Here at the Karcher Mall, we believe that doing First Friday events will bring the community together in a fun, safe, and environmentally controlled setting. We look forward to these events and hope that everyone else will as well.” – Amber Acree, Karcher Mall Management
Art of Building a Community

By our actions, we wish to demonstrate the legendary proceedings of the men and women, unafraid of hard work, who founded the west, and the lifestyle that gave them the courage it took to endure its hardships and lead them to a better life.

In the 1800’s every large ranch held a rodeo or a “cattle cutting” and invited the entire community out to be involved. So began the “Art of Building a Community”. Ranchers revealed crafts, sold wares, exchanged recipes, but most of all, they shared laughter and ideas. They worked side by side to teach and guide their children and developed a strong community.

Gold Buckle Champion continues the tradition of our Western Heritage by teaching and guiding our children. Our focus is on developing a pride in craftsmanship, the value of hard work, and instilling can-do attitudes in our children with  various projects in Treasure Valley.

horse hair hitchingGold Buckle Champion, is kicking off our 2nd annual Western Heritage Art Project on April 2nd at Karcher Mall in Nampa, ID. This year’s kickoff will feature several artists doing demonstrations of art forms that helped shape our Western Heritage. Braiding, leather tooling, silverwork, and cowboy poetry, just to name a few.
Demonstrations of their crafts will be presented from 1:00 to 5:00 on Saturday, April 2nd  at Gold Buckle Champion, Suite 1234, across from JoAnn Fabrics.
This is the precursor to our Western Heritage Art project where student artists from Treasure Valley School districts are invited to submit their best works to be chosen for exhibition in an art show during the summer 2016. Gold Buckle Champion is a non-profit organization whose mission is to further the education of equine health and safety while preserving our western heritage and history by means of promoting equine events incorporating the youth and community.
Gold Buckle Champion continues the tradition of our Western Heritage by teaching and guiding our children. Our focus is on developing the creativity in our children through our art program, Art of Building a Community. Studies show that there is a correlation between art and other academic achievements. A report by Americans for the Arts states that young people who participate regularly in the arts (three hours a day, three days a week through one full year) are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, to participate in a math and science fair, or to win an award for writing an essay or poem than children who do not participate.
If you, or anyone you know is interested in demonstrating an art form, or would like to enter the contest, please contact us.
